What’s the role

  • Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a cabling installations
  • Fibre Optic installation and termination (Desirable)
  • Installation of containment systems
  • Installation of server cabinets and racks
  • Installation of pre-configured Routers, Switches and Access Points
  • Decommissioning of equipment
  • Testing and documentation
  • Adhere to company health and safety protocols
  • Locations either London or Birmingham

Requirements

  • Knowledge of or be competent in installing, terminating and testing data and voice network hardware and cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, Multicore (CW1308), and Fibre Optics to internationally recognised standards.
  • Ability to drive our vehicles whilst taking due care of expensive equipment during transportation
  • Excellent dexterity for complex and detailed cabling termination, as well as the operation of the required tools
  • The ability to work at heights (training will be provided if not already taken), and in a variety of environments during installations and cabling work
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent customer care and listening skills.
  • Ability to recognise and report any unexpected or unusual occurrences whilst performing an installation with regards to the equipment or software being installed.
  • Ability to recognise risk during site survey work and report appropriately.
  • Solution oriented, organized, independent / self-sufficient and structured way of working
  • Resourceful, pro-active acting, resilient (to be able to cope with strain / with heavy workload), patient, flexible
  • Full UK driving licence
  • ECS/CSCS card holder
  • IPAF (desirable)
  • CNCI fibre & copper (desirable)
