Job description
Working in the Non-IT Development operations team, you will be supporting the data management engineer with day to day tasks. The team builds bespoke software solutions to aid the delivery of learner results that do not warrant scaling to I.T. or need a fast temporary solution. This process varies widely and meetings need to be held with stakeholders to identify the best way forward and what solutions are available, or where non exist, need creating.
The team manages a library of applications that need regular configuring and maintaining for each exam series, as well as supporting users and logging and actioning requests for change’s. The team also needs to identify opportunity’s for improvements within its customer base, as well as react quickly to issues and deploy bridging applications/offer work arounds to support the business at very short notice where required.
Duties will include team task planning/tracking, managing daily team meetings and organising meetings with stakeholders.
This position is to fulfil a retirement vacancy. A knowledge transfer period will be required with the outgoing team member which will involve shadowing day to day activities., Setup new users and bulk user accounts ad-hoc
Maintain sql tables and data.
Build reports using excel, ssrs
Provide exports and analysis on requests to the teams customers.
Problem solve issues and proactively deploy checks
Hold teams meetings with customers and effectively document
Be a point of contact within the team and add actions to the action log.
Manage daily morning meetings to prioritise workload.
Fully own the qualifications database including setup and plan/develop for future needs
Provide cover for the other team members
Cross train with the other team members
Export data from various business systems
Run morning data updates and reporting
Work with IT to resolve issues where required
Core hours of 6am - 2pm but must be willing to be flexible to support the business’s needs (including weekends).
Work from home preferable with the requirement to attend the office on request.
Requirements
Required
Advanced office 365
High level of accuracy
Data analytics
Understand of database design (MS SQL)
Be proactively organised and prioritise own workload
Work from home, with occasional working in office
Experience with working with customers, first line IT support, fast request turnaround
Desirable
Knowledge of VB.Net, VBA, SQL, ASP, HTML, SSRS, SHAREPOINT, Powershell, Windows server environments.
Experience creating and maintaining work instructions
Experience demonstrating new products and collecting feedback
Experience with the software development lifecycle.
Benefits & conditions
Pay: £14.18 per hour
