Job description
The main tasks of the software engineer are the following:
- Design and develop high-performance software solutions, including CUDA-based parallel computing components, for wireless sub-systems and prototypes.
- Develop and maintain Embedded Linux-based systems, including low-level drivers and interfaces to hardware. Create intuitive user interfaces and demonstrator applications for technology showcases and stakeholder presentations., * A pre-employment screening (e.g. knowledge security check) can be part of the selection procedure. Requirements
For this team we are looking for an embedded software engineer who will join the ET and support the technical valorization activities linked to our Center for Wireless Technology (CWTe, www.tue.nl/cwte). The ideal candidate should have relevant industry experience., * MSc or PhD degree in a Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
- Experience in software development with strong skills in Embedded Linux, combined with hands-on experience interfacing software to hardware. CUDA programming knowledge is a plus.
- Capability to design clean and effective User Interfaces (UIs) for demonstrators is highly valued.
- Affinity to work on the interface between academia and industry as well as government
- Team player who can work in an international and multicultural team
- Willingness to step out of their comfort zone and expand their current knowledge
- Fluent in written and spoken English is required. Dutch is advantageous
Skills & Tools
- Strong proficiency in C/C++, Embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot), CUDA, Nvidia Jetson.
- Experience with hardware interfacing (drivers, peripherals, real-time constraints)
- Ability to design and implement modern UIs for demonstrators (e.g. Qt, Web-based interfaces, or similar)
- Knowledge of wireless communication standards and protocols is advantageous

Pulled from the full job description Sabbatical Pension plan, * Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 9 to 11, ranging from € 3,873 to € 6,682 gross base salary per month (full-time), depending on your knowledge and experience.
