Job description

  • Installing, configuring and testing firewalls, routers, switches, network proxies and VPN concentrators to maximise network efficiency and security in accordance with NCSC operational requirements;
  • Implementing and validating security settings across Cisco, Juniper, Linux, Unix and Microsoft operating system environments;
  • Assessing network performance, security and availability through continuous monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting using appropriate network management and security monitoring tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years of relevant post-degree experience. Alternatively, lack of a university degree may be compensated by demonstrated abilities or experience of interest to NCIA, including at least 10 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to those described in the Statement of Work;
  • At least 5 years of practical experience in cyber security or a related field, such as:
  • Developing and maintaining cyber security solution architectures,
  • Developing or delivering cyber security capabilities and services,
  • Working in complex and demanding technical environments;
  • Extensive knowledge and experience (preferably more than 5 years) in:
  • Cyber security principles, best practices, concepts, technologies, and operational procedures,
  • Configuration and integration of cyber security tools and boundary protection components, including firewalls, Network Intrusion Prevention Systems (NIPS), Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), and data diodes.
  • Encryption technologies,
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM),
  • Monitoring and detection solutions,
  • Incident response,
  • Vulnerability assessment,
  • Computer forensics,
  • Risk management.

Desirable:

  • Experience in working for or supporting a military or governmental organization.
