Job description
Our department develops and manages a suite of advanced software solutions designed to optimize operations for energy sector players. You will be a key member of one of our two dedicated Odoo teams (6 people each), working within a broader ERP product team of 35-person. You will work on innovative projects within a listening and supportive environment where everyone’s ideas are discussed and valued., We are looking for a passionate Odoo Software Engineer to join our team. You will collaborate closely with a Tech Lead, Product Managers, and other engineers across the GRID suite to design, build, and evolve our core component.
You will be responsible for developing high-quality applications, as well as designing and implementing testable and scalable code. You will provide solutions by offering ideas that will be debated in a collaborative team environment, allowing you to continuously develop your technological and business skills., As an Odoo Software Engineer, you will actively participate in the entire development process, from discovery and definition to development and delivery. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Architecture & Analysis: Take full ownership of comprehensive technical analyses to translate complex business needs into robust technical solutions, and actively participate in architectural decisions for our Odoo applications.
- Core Development & APIs: Design and implement scalable, high-quality code in Python and SQL. You will also design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs that enable efficient communication between GRID components.
- Full-Cycle Engineering: Refine specifications based on requirements, define data models, develop and test solutions, and ensure your code is deployable, reliable, and monitored.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Actively share knowledge and expertise with team members to foster collaboration. You will work within a broader 35-person team, requiring effective communication with developers of other GRID components.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes, integration patterns, and team culture, fostering an environment of innovation and technical excellence.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Master’s Degree or Engineering degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of proven experience developing specifically with Odoo and its development environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Python and SQL is required, with a solid understanding of design/development methodologies (UML, Agile methods, UX) and environments/tools (configuration management, deployments, code quality, testing).
- Soft Skills: Highly autonomous, rigorous, and analytical, with a strong team spirit.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and propose effective solutions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment. Fluency in French and English. *
Additional Desired Qualifications:
- Prior knowledge of the energy sector is a definite asset.
- Familiarity with AI tools/assistants (such as Gemini, Claude Code, etc.) is a strong plus.
- Knowledge in or experience with CI/CD tools (DevOps) is an asset.
