Software Engineer - risklab

Experteer Overview In this role you design, build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services for risklab, AllianzGI’s platform for investment and risk solutions. You’ll strengthen cloud-native deployments on Azure, drive API lifecycle and DevOps practices, and improve scalability, security and reliability. You work closely with cross-functional partners to translate business problems into scalable software. This is a hands-on engineering position at the intersection of digital wealth management and quantitative investment advice, with a clear impact on platform maturity and performance. Pay / Benefits * Design, build, document and maintain high-quality REST APIs for risklab’s wealth management and investment advice capabilities * Maintain and extend backend services and microservices for modularity, reliability, and scalability * Drive API lifecycle management including versioning, contract design, compatibility, authentication, documentation and partner integration * Assess and improve architectures for maintainability, scalability, security and resilience * Support cloud-native deployments on Azure with Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, Helm and runbooks * Enhance CI/CD and DevOps practices using GitHub Actions for repeatable and secure deployments * Contribute to DevSecOps through dependency management, vulnerability remediation and container hygiene * Improve testing coverage: unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, performance and regression tests * Support production operations: incident troubleshooting, performance analysis, monitoring and root-cause analysis * Extend platform integrations with Azure data services (Data Factory, Databricks, SQL) and Redis as needed * Collaborate with investment professionals and stakeholders to translate problems into robust software solutions * Advance engineering maturity through automation, documentation, observability and deployment reliability Tasks * 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience * Strong REST API design experience including lifecycle management, versioning, authentication and documentation * Solid understanding of microservices, resilience, observability and inter-service communication * Hands-on programming in Python or C# * Good knowledge of Azure cloud-native development * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; AKS and Helm are a plus * Practical CI/CD experience, preferably with GitHub Actions; DevSecOps exposure is beneficial * Solid testing approach across production systems (unit to performance) and automation * Experience improving production systems in scalability, monitoring and reliability * Knowledge of Azure data services (Data Factory, Databricks, SQL) and Redis is beneficial * Awareness of secure software development and vulnerability management * Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and pragmatic trade-off decisions * Comfort with production issues and day-to-day platform operations * Collaborative, proactive and self-reliant working style with clear communication * Interest in investment technology or quantitative methods is a plus * English proficiency (written and spoken) Key requirements * flexible work arrangements * company pension/savings plans * relocation/ childcare support * company share purchasing plan * mental health and wellbeing programs * Mobility solutions (Jobrad bike leasing, Jobticket subvention)
