Job description

Hope Horizon Mental Health is seeking an employee-focused, tech-savvy IT Support Specialist to serve as our primary on-site technology support professional. This position plays an essential role in ensuring our staff have the tools and technology they need to provide high-quality behavioral health services to children, youth, and families throughout Tulare County.

Working closely with our contracted IT provider, the IT Support Specialist will provide day-to-day technical support, maintain technology equipment, assist with technology projects, and support staff across multiple office locations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain broad, hands-on IT experience while making a meaningful impact in their community.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as the first point of contact for routine technology support requests and provide timely, friendly, and professional customer service to staff.

  2. Troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other technology issues involving computers, laptops, printers, copiers, mobile devices, monitors, cameras, microphones, and related equipment. May also include supporting outside vendors.

  3. Configure, deploy, and maintain computers, laptops, phones, iPads, printers, peripherals, and other technology equipment for new employees and organizational needs.

  4. Prepare, maintain, and troubleshoot loaner equipment to ensure devices are functional and ready for deployment.

  5. Install, configure, and support technology accessories including monitors, docking stations, webcams, printers, and other peripherals.

  6. Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes by preparing, issuing, collecting, and reconfiguring technology equipment.

  7. Maintain accurate technology inventory records, including tracking assigned equipment, returns, replacements, and available assets.

  8. Coordinate technology replacement needs, equipment purchases, and related requests with Administration.

  9. Assist with secure recycling and disposal of retired technology equipment.

  10. Coordinate closely with the organization’s contracted IT provider on technology projects, troubleshooting, and system needs, escalating complex infrastructure or network issues as appropriate.

  11. Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, user management, Microsoft Teams administration, and related technology tasks as delegated.

  12. Support cybersecurity initiatives, including staff technology training, phishing awareness efforts, and other technology-related compliance activities.

  13. Assist with office moves, workstation setup, technology deployment, and organization-wide hardware upgrades.

  14. Travel between Hope Horizon office locations to provide on-site technology support and assistance as needed.

  15. Provide support for special projects and organizational technology needs as they arise.

  16. Assist with general administrative or office projects during periods of lower technology demand.

  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated experience providing technical support, help desk services, or related IT assistance preferred. An associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, relevant technical certifications, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.

  2. Working knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft 365 applications, computer hardware, printers, mobile devices, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and basic networking concepts.

  3. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine technology issues while providing excellent customer service and communicating technical information clearly to individuals with varying levels of technology experience.

  4. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail.

  5. Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn new technologies and processes.

  6. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely move technology equipment.

  7. Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required. Position requires travel between HHMH locations, with mileage reimbursed.

  8. Must be available by cell phone as needed; while after-hours work is not a regular expectation, occasional support outside of regular working hours may be necessary to support the team and ensure continued operations.

  9. Ability to obtain criminal records clearance check.

  10. Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive, professional relationships with staff, leadership, external IT providers, clients, and other individuals with whom the agency interacts. Must communicate respectfully and conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
