Job description

  • Identify high-value opportunities to apply AI and automation across the firm’s legal, client service, and operational workflows
  • Design, build, test, and deploy production-ready AI applications, agents, automations, and system integrations
  • Develop AI-powered solutions using LLMs, APIs, retrieval systems, structured data extraction, agentic workflows, and other emerging AI technologies
  • Integrate AI systems with case-management, CRM, communication, document, database, and other internal business systems
  • Collaborate directly with firm leadership, attorneys, and operations teams to understand business problems and translate them into practical technical solutions
  • Build systems that automate document review, case analysis, intake, quality assurance, client communications, internal knowledge retrieval, and other high-value workflows
  • Establish reliable processes for AI evaluation, testing, monitoring, logging, human review, and continuous improvement
  • Design solutions with appropriate security, access controls, auditability, and data protection for confidential and privileged client information
  • Measure the performance and business impact of AI systems and continuously improve solutions based on real-world results
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, frameworks, and technologies and determine when they can provide meaningful value to the firm

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional software engineering or application development experience, with recent hands-on experience building and deploying AI-powered applications
  • Strong programming experience in Python and/or TypeScript, with the ability to build beyond no-code or low-code automation platforms
  • Hands-on experience working with major LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar platforms
  • Experience building AI agents, tool-calling workflows, RAG systems, structured-output pipelines, or other production LLM applications
  • Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth, databases, and third-party system integrations
  • Experience with AI development frameworks or workflow platforms such as LangGraph, PydanticAI, LlamaIndex, n8n, Make, Zapier, or similar tools
  • Experience with LLM evaluation, testing, monitoring, reliability, or other methods for improving AI system performance
  • Experience with document processing, OCR, embeddings, vector databases, or large-document pipelines is highly preferred
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, as well as Docker and Git, is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to turn ambiguous business problems into practical technical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work directly with attorneys, leadership, and nontechnical team members
  • Highly independent, resourceful, and accountable, with a strong bias toward building, testing, shipping, and improving solutions

Requirements:

  • Able to provide links to 2-3 AI systems, applications, automations, repositories, or technical projects personally built or substantially contributed to
  • Able to clearly explain their individual contributions, technical decisions, architecture, and deployment process for submitted projects
