Job description
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments for enterprise use
- Manage AVD host pools, session hosts, and associated capacity and scaling
- Administer AVD profile management and application virtualization / RemoteApp streaming
- Manage custom and shared image galleries, including image creation, versioning, and lifecycle
- Design and operate Azure virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, and firewalls supporting AVD and Redis workloads
- Manage Azure Files and Azure NetApp Files storage tiers used by AVD user profiles and application data
- Administer Azure subscriptions, billing, cost management, and resource utilization reporting Author and maintain Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and automation using Azure CLI and PowerShell Deploy and operate enterprise Redis infrastructure on Azure, including configuration, sizing, scaling, and performance tuning
- Apply Azure security best practices, including Azure Active Directory, RBAC, authentication, and encryption
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune AVD and Redis using Azure Monitor, Redis Insight, and related tooling
- Provide recommendations for procedural and technology improvements, and support adoption of emerging Azure and Redis technologies
Requirements
Minimum 6 years as an IT Subject Matter Expert / Consultant defining procedures, standards, and performance objectives for emerging technologies in an IT organization.
Within that experience, the candidate must demonstrate hands-on, production-level expertise in the following areas:
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments at enterprise scale
- AVD host pool and session host management
- AVD profile management
- Azure application virtualization and RemoteApp streaming
- Image management using custom and shared image galleries
- Azure virtual networks, subnets, NSGs, and firewalls
- Azure Files and/or Azure NetApp Files
- Azure subscription and billing management
- Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell
- Azure security best practices, including Azure Active Directory and RBAC
- Monitoring and troubleshooting with Azure Monitor and Redis Insight
Certification: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (or equivalent) is required.
Technical Requirements
- Working proficiency with the Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and PowerShell for day-to-day administration
- Experience with Redis CLI and Redis Insight for operational management
- Familiarity with Grafana and Prometheus for observability of cloud and Redis workloads
- Familiarity with Docker for containerized Redis deployments
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with agency IT teams
Education Requirements Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (required per labor category).
