Job description

This onsite Cyber Software Engineer role supports cybersecurity, digital forensics, and incident response activities in a mission-critical environment at Fort Bragg, NC. You will analyze cyber threats, perform reverse engineering, conduct security assessments, and develop solutions that strengthen cyber operations and defense capabilities. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with potential for extension, requiring an active TS/SCI clearance., * Conduct comprehensive cyber investigations and digital forensic analysis to identify, preserve, and interpret evidence related to cyber incidents.

  • Support incident response activities by triaging events, performing root-cause analysis, and contributing to containment and remediation efforts.
  • Perform malware analysis and reverse engineering to understand capabilities, behavior, and impact of malicious code.
  • Execute static and dynamic application security testing (SAST and DAST) to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Analyze network traffic and cyber events to detect anomalies, threats, and indicators of compromise.
  • Develop, automate, and optimize security workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of cybersecurity operations.
  • Collaborate closely with government and technical teams to enhance cyber defense capabilities and support mission objectives.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux environments that host security tools, analysis platforms, and operational systems.
  • Apply reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, and Radare to dissect binaries and applications.
  • Contribute technical insights to security assessments and help design solutions that improve overall cyber posture., This position is based onsite at Fort Bragg, NC, in a mission-focused Department of Defense environment. You will work full-time on a standard 5/40 schedule, collaborating closely with government and technical teams in secure facilities. The role involves extensive use of cybersecurity and forensic tools, reverse engineering platforms such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, and Radare, and operating systems including Linux and Windows. Work is highly collaborative, fast-paced, and centered on supporting critical operations and enhancing cyber defense capabilities.

Requirements

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in digital forensics and/or incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST).
  • Hands-on experience with Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST).
  • Proven experience performing network analysis to identify threats and anomalies.
  • Experience with reverse engineering using tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, Binary Ninja, and Radare.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux environments in support of cybersecurity operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows administration in a cybersecurity or operational context.
  • Experience automating cybersecurity or security operations workflows to streamline processes.
  • Mobile device forensics experience using tools such as Cellebrite, Magnet Axiom, and GrayKey.
  • Experience with Interactive Application Security Testing (IAST).
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and frameworks such as large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), conversational AI gateways (CAG), or model control frameworks (MCP).
  • Familiarity with Special Operations or Department of Defense mission environments and requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
