Job description

Maxonic maintains a close and long-term relationship with our direct client. In support of their needs, we are looking for a Senior Scala Engineer, We are looking for a Senior Scala Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable software applications and data-processing systems. The ideal candidate has strong programming fundamentals and experience building backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Scala., * Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Scala.

Build scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
Work with databases, messaging systems, and cloud platforms.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and production issues.
Collaborate with software engineers, architects, DevOps, data engineers, and product teams.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions.
Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
Monitor and improve application performance and reliability.
Follow software engineering best practices for security, CI/CD, and version control.

Requirements

10+ years as a software engineer in Scala
Strong functional programming concepts.
Experience with JVM technologies and Java.
Strong in REST APIs and microservices
Strong in Apache Spark
Strong in Kafka
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with SQL and relational or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Akka, Cats, ZIO, Play Framework, or similar Scala technologies.
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools.
Experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
