Job description
The Configuration Change Engineer acts as a critical technical coordinator between engineering, design, and delivery teams. The core focus is to ensure that the nuclear power plant design remains properly controlled, fully traceable, and compliant across the complete project lifecycle - maintaining strict alignment between the approved design documentation and physical site construction., Configuration Management & Change Control
- Process Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for configuration management processes, supporting Engineering Managers and Design Authorities on key technical control matters.
- Technical Interface Management: Coordinate and oversee design changes, open points, technical interfaces, and reference document modifications across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure configuration management procedures are implemented in alignment with UK regulatory expectations, Nuclear Site Licence requirements, and CDM regulations.
- Process Improvement: Develop data-centric approaches to configuration management, analysing technical records to identify opportunities for system and procedural enhancements.
Project & Stakeholder Coordination
- Cross-Functional Interface: Work collaboratively across engineering, site construction, and project management functions to maintain configuration control during design handovers.
- Data & Records Management: Maintain precise databases, tracking progress, managing priorities, and escalating technical issues where appropriate.
Requirements
- Engineering Background: Relevant engineering or technical qualification with strong capability in analysing technical documentation, complex data, and engineering requirements.
- Industry Sector: Practical nuclear industry experience is essential, with prior knowledge of European Pressurised Reactor (EPR) or Nuclear Power Plant design highly advantageous.
- Configuration Control: Proven understanding of configuration management principles, change control processes, and quality arrangements within a regulated construction environment.
- Regulatory Context: Familiarity with UK Nuclear Site Licence conditions, CDM regulations, and nuclear construction quality frameworks.
