Job description

Experteer Overview As an Application Engineer, you will deliver technically robust, cost-effective engine package solutions for industrial customers. You will collaborate across Sales, OEM teams and Caterpillar to drive successful project delivery from bid through installation sign-off. You’ll lead technical discussions, audits, and continuous improvement of engine integrations while keeping commercial awareness in focus. This role offers hands-on engineering impact, customer-facing collaboration, and opportunities to shape turnkey solutions for diverse industries. Pay / Benefits * Provide technical application support for sales opportunities and bid development * Collaborate with Sales, OEM teams, Caterpillar and design teams on application solutions * Identify revenue-generating opportunities and value-added solutions * Design and support integration of third-party equipment into engine turnkey packages * Contribute to design, development and validation of engineered components and systems * Review and approve engineering drawings and designs for compliance and quality * Act as primary technical liaison between Caterpillar, OEMs, customers and internal stakeholders * Plan and document full engine installation audits per Caterpillar requirements * Manage portfolio of key industrial accounts and provide technical leadership across projects * Oversee projects from concept to final installation sign-off with objectives met * Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, calculations, instructions and approvals * Conduct on-site testing, troubleshooting and commissioning support as required * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engine technologies and industry developments * Travel and site-based testing and audits as needed Tasks * Degree in Engineering, HND qualification, apprenticeship route qualification, or equivalentexperience * Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge * Experience of engine systems, applications and installations * Understanding of engine integration into OEM equipment or machinery * Experience reviewing technical drawings and engineering documentation * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong communication skills for customer and stakeholder engagement * Experience presenting technical solutions in customer-facing environments * Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to completion * Commercial awareness and understanding of project cost implications * Proficiency with engineering software and CAD packages * Basic understanding of CAN network systems * Willingness to travel and perform site testing/audits Key requirements * competitive salary * bonus * 25 days holiday + bank holidays * up to 7% pension * comprehensive benefits package * professional growth and development
