Job description

The HR Data Systems Technician serves as the front-line team member for leading the entry, processing and auditing of sensitive HRIS data. This role is fundamental to the integrity of university records, focusing on the strategic use of technology to eliminate manual redundancies while ensuring the absolute accuracy and security of personnel information. Work Schedule 20-30 hours per week Other Work/Responsibilities Data Management & Onboarding

  • Leading organization-wide data entry and tracking for new hires, job changes and other data events to ensure seamless talent lifecycle management across all classifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive electronic personnel records for current and former employees, ensuring a high standard of digital record-keeping.
  • Validate federal onboarding compliance by executing I-9 work authorization and E-Verify processes- to include visas for employees as well as some student/visitor visas, mitigating institutional risk through meticulous attention to regulatory standards.

System Auditing & Compliance

  • Audit system approval workflows and talent team submissions regularly, for both efficiency and to uphold maximum data accuracy and process integrity.
  • Monitor onboarding compliance metrics to ensure the college remains in strict alignment with university and federal requirements., Final candidates are subject to criminal & sex offender background checks. Some vacancies also require credit or motor vehicle checks. Degree(s) must be obtained prior to start date in order to meet qualifications and receive credit.

  • Demonstrated experience with basic federal and/or state employment law requirements, FLSA, FMLA, best standards in recruitment and selection, etc.
  • Technical proficiencies in various business information systems at an intermediate to advanced level, such as excel/sheets, power bi, smartsheets, monday.com, trello, including similar enterprise-level HRIS platforms
  • Experience in an academic setting is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
