Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) Associate is responsible for executing test plans, validating system functionality, and ensuring new applications, enhancements, and operational processes meet defined business and regulatory requirements. This role supports enterprise initiatives including NSA/Surprise Bill workflows, arbitration processes, automation enhancements, AI/ML-enabled tools, and digital transformation projects. The BAT Associate identifies defects, documents results and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness and quality outcomes., 1. Execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios based on defined business requirements and regulatory expectations.

  1. Validate system functionality and workflow impacts for initiatives related to NSA compliance, arbitration strategy, and Surprise Bill processes.
  2. Test AI/ML-enabled tools, automation workflows, and data-driven applications to ensure accuracy and operational alignment.
  3. Document test results, defects, and retesting outcomes with clarity and precision.
  4. Collaborate with operational, technical, and analytics teams to clarify requirements and testing expectations.
  5. Participate in test planning sessions and provide input on test coverage and risk areas.
  6. Support defect resolution by reproducing issues, validating fixes, and escalating concerns as needed.
  7. Assist in developing test documentation, including scripts, acceptance criteria, and workflow validations.
  8. Ensure compliance with testing standards, governance, and quality expectations.
  9. Maintain accurate records of testing activities and sign-offs for audit and compliance purposes.
  10. Support operational readiness activities for system releases and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  11. Ad hoc support to Team Leader as necessary.
  12. Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
  13. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  14. Demonstrate Company’s Core Competencies and values held within.
  15. Please note due to the exposure of PHI sensitive data - this role is considered to be a High-Risk Role.
  16. Responsible for routine internal monitoring and auditing of compliance risks, prompt response to compliance issues as they are raised, investigation of potential compliance problems as identified in the course of self-evaluation and audits, correction of such problems promptly and thoroughly to reduce the potential for recurrence as required by applicable state and federal laws, regulations and MPI’s Compliance Programs.

JOB SCOPE:

The incumbent works under the direction of the BAT Team Leader and collaborates with cross-functional teams to execute testing activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to follow structured testing processes.

Requirements

  1. Minimum high school diploma and three (3) years’ related experience in testing, quality assurance, operations, or system implementation.
  2. Previous experience supporting initiatives related to NSA/Surprise Bill, arbitration strategy, or healthcare regulatory compliance preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of data science applications in operational settings
  4. Strong working knowledge of Jira & Confluence
  5. Experience in cross-functional collaboration, including working with diverse teams.
  6. Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning (ML), and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques.
  7. Experience supporting enterprise-level transformation initiatives
  8. Strong understanding of operational workflows, system functionality, and business requirements.
  9. Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines
  10. Required licensures, professional certifications, and/or Board certifications as applicable
  11. Communication (written, verbal and listening), leadership, team building, detail oriented, analytic, and interpersonal skills
  12. Ability to use hardware, software and peripherals related to job responsibilities including MS Office Suites Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Word
  13. Ability to elicit trust and credibility as well as interface with all levels of the organization
  14. Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers
  15. Ability to formulate the solution and involve others in solving issues
  16. Ability to be comfortable with and manage in-person client interface

  21. Ability to travel, including overnight stays up to 10%

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this position is $61k - $70k. Specific offers take into account a candidate’s education, experience and skills, as well as the candidate’s work location and internal equity. This position is also eligible for health insurance, 401k and bonus opportunity.
