Job description

SMX is seeking highly motivated Joint Network and Fires Integrator Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Special Operations Command Pacific (SOCPAC). This position identifies, analyzes, and articulates requirements for the direction of All-Domain, Services, Allies, and Partner Nations fires, emphasizing Joint Fires Integration and tactical mission network integration of manned and unmanned aerial platform operations, kinetic and non-kinetic effects, and mitigation of risk to force and risk to mission across the Indo-Pacific.

The position supports operational implementation of the Joint Fires Network (JFN), INDOPACOM Theater Mesh Network (ITMN), and Special Operations Command (SOCOM) Networks, engaging DoD stakeholders across every warfighting domain to define implementation requirements, scope, and schedule, and to deliver warfighting capability assessments that expedite the fielding of emerging technologies and critical warfighting capabilities into operational use.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identifying, analyzing, and articulating requirements and artifacts in planning and operational execution, focusing on integration across Services, Allies, and Partner Nations within the Indo-Pacific Joint Coalition Fires enterprise, including Special Access Programs (SAP) and Controlled Access Programs (CAP) that support target development, and the integration of the Joint Fires Network (JFN) and Tactical Mission Networks into the INDOPACOM Theater Mesh Network (ITMN).

  • Acts as the primary liaison between the contractor team and SOCPAC government leadership, providing input and coordination for the development of TTPs, CONOPs, policies, and workflows supporting the Joint Fires Network (JFN), INDOPACOM Theater Mesh Network, and SOCOM Networks.

  • Provide input on refinement and tailoring of Joint Fires Network (JFN) and Tactical Mission Network requirements, integration strategies, national intelligence integration, and collaborating with appropriate organizations to advance leading fires concepts.

  • Engage DoD stakeholders to support multi-domain operational implementation and integration of advanced warfighting capabilities across constructive, virtual, and live mission environments.

  • Stay informed on theater Tactical Mission Networks to advise the customer and distinguished visitors.

  • Travel & Mobile Support: Conduct short- and long-term CONUS and OCONUS travel as required. Travel duties include providing hands-on Joint Fires Network (JFN) and Tactical Mission Network integration support to SOCPAC elements in theater, performing site visits and system checks at forward locations, and executing scheduled integration events, exercises, and training events.

Requirements

  • Clearance required: TS/SCI

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.

  • 15+ years of experience in a military, including 5 years in military operations, focused on military staff planning, capabilities, strategies, and technologies.

  • 10+ years of combined experience in military operations with a focus on joint kinetic and non-kinetic fires and/or targeting/Intel, with at least three years of experience in the INDOPACOM theater.

  • 2+ years of Joint Fires Network (JFN) integration experience with Tactical Mission Networks.

  • Demonstrated experience in technical projects supporting the operational implementation of advanced techniques, theories, and practices in technology programs transitioning to full operational use.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational knowledge management, and operational assessment capabilities.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Weapons School graduate is highly desired.

  • Graduate of Joint Targeting Course and/or Target Development Course is highly desired.

  • Expert in all facets of the coordination and execution of the F2T2EA process is highly desired.

  • Familiarity with INDOPACOM Theater Mesh Network and SOCOM Networks program objectives is desired.

  • Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) qualification is highly desired.
