Job description
This position is for a Systems Engineer (SE) supporting new product development and research in Eatonâs Mission Systems Division (MSD). The Systems Engineer is responsible for requirements management, system architecture development, and supporting system integration and test. The candidate will be an individual contributor alongside other system engineers based in UK and in Global Teams.
The products and systems are thermal fluid and dynamic mechanical systems and avionics that support aerospace applications. These aerospace applications are diverse and will primarily include aircraft refueling, and weapons storage and release systems. The Systems Engineer should be self-motivated to proactively learn about the technical domain of the given system and identify how and where the systems engineering discipline can create the highest value. This role will also support migration of the requirements management processes from CRADLE to DOORS NG and migration of architecture modelling from EA to CAMEO. Finally, the candidate should work as a member and partner of the product team generating SE work products and providing technical guidance to incorporate systems engineering methodologies. Other skills include technical leadership, project execution, and team collaboration.
- Support Bids & Proposals:
- Review customer requirements documents
- Define areas of risk and updates
- Develop SE estimates tailored to scope/need
- Collaborate with product team to manage requirements:
- Write, allocate, and trace.
- Develop system/subsystem specifications.
- Create and manage verification matrices.
- Migrate from CRADLE to DOORS NG / IBM JAZZ ELM
- Contribute to Pilot Programmes for DOORS NG
- Develop Requirements Management Plans
- Contribute to Migration Plans from CRADLE to DOORS NG
- Support training Sessions for DOORS NG
- Engineering Administrator of DOORS NG for WIM SE team
- Interface with IT as Needed to Support Requirements Management Tools
- Leverage Training to Support Other US Based Divisions.
- Migrate from EA to CAMEO
- Contribute to Pilot Programmes for CAMEO
- Develop architecture modelling plans
- Contribute to Migration Plans from EA to CAMEO
- Support Eaton Aerospace Process development
- Contribute to Engineering / BMS processes
- Support process to identify level of systems engineering required for programs.
- Support metrics to measure SE process implementation.
Requirements
- Experience in systems engineering most likely obtained in safety critical development environments eg. aerospace, automotive, defence or others - full lifecycle, V diagram etc
- Experience using requirements tools eg. DOORS, Cradle, Jama etc
- Any experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) eg. EA, CAMEO, SYSML, SYSMOD etc, * Requirements Management
- System Architecture Modeling
- Direct Experience with DOORS NG or equivalent
- Experience Using EA, CAMEO or equivalent
- System Integration and Collaboration
- Product Life Cycle Development (System âVâ Model)
- Demonstrated communication skills:
