Job description

The Formulation Specialist I supports production schedules in a fast-paced, high-throughput laboratory environment. This role is critical in manufacturing immunoassay components, chemical buffers, biological reagents, printed plates, and assembled kits for customer order fulfillment. The Formulation Specialist I follows established SOPs under supervision to meet department goals and may manage specific aspects of the manufacturing process., * Manufacture custom and/or prototype ELISA kits for customer orders.

  • Complete appropriate documentation to support production procedures, including data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch records.
  • Perform daily maintenance and documentation of production equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain physical and electronic inventory by processing, aliquoting, vialing, and labeling materials while updating the inventory management system.
  • Prepare, update, and report raw material, reagent, and/or printed plate inventories.
  • Follow laboratory safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasionally handle BSL2 reagents following safety protocols.
  • Adapt responsibilities as needed to meet departmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field is required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing biological products or a related field.
  • Experience working in a cGMP and/or ISO-certified environment is highly preferred.

Desirable Skills and Expertise:

  • High-throughput screening experience.
  • Experience manufacturing immunoassays and/or reagents.
  • Familiarity with reagent stability testing protocols.
  • Knowledge of in-vitro diagnostic instrumentation and devices., * Strong scientific background with excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to standard laboratory techniques and safety protocols (e.g., protein determination, pipetting, balance operation).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively both independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment with shifting priorities.
