Systems Analyst

Perform all varieties of plumbing-related construction, maintenance, renovation, and repair projects on campus, including low pressure boilers, both oil and gas fired, for campus domestic hot water and heat. Maintain campus steam distribution systems and controls. Operate computerized building automation systems. Assist in the maintenance of campus building HVAC units.

• Systems Analyst Lewiston, ME The Systems Analyst supports the health, security, and reliability of the College’s server applications and maintains a hybrid application portfolio spanning self-hosted and SaaS-delivered systems. This role integrates, customizes, and enhances database and web applications to meet the evolving needs of College departments, working closely with vendors, campus stakeholders, and teammates to implement, configure, and support both new and existing technologies.

• Shuttle Driver (Part-Time), Guided by the tenets of the Bates Mission Statement, the Admission Counselor serves as a member of the Admission team to recruit, admit, and enroll an academically talented and diverse class of students. The position will assist with various recruitment projects assigned according to previous experiences and departmental needs. Works closely with deans, counselors, operations team, campus partners, and secondary school counselors.

• Commons Associate - Utility (FT, FY) Lewiston, ME The Commons Associate - Utility position primarily serves as front line support to student dining, but may be called upon to assist in any other area of the DCCE operation as needed. This position must follow food safety and sanitation procedures and work collaboratively with colleagues while building and developing positive relationships with all staff members.

• Coordinator of Student Well-Being, The Coordinator of Student Well-Being oversees the development, implementation, and assessment of health education programming including peer to peer health promotion and campus wide Well-Being initiatives. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the work of the Integrated Well-Being Team throughout the student experience. The Coordinator of Student Well-Being also supports case management for students experiencing complex challenges. The primary responsibility of the Coordinator will be providing clinical case management for students with complex health concerns. A secondary focus of case management responsibilities for the role is providing support for students with psychiatric concerns and/or generalized case management needs. Case management is an important aspect of supporting student Well-Being.
• Second Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach, The Second Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for aiding the Head Coach in administering a competitive NCAA Division III intercollegiate program. This position supports the development of student-athletes through mentorship, guidance, leadership opportunities, community building, and a commitment to social justice. The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of planning and assisting with conditioning, training, and performance of student-athletes. This is a seasonal assistant coaching position.
• Campus Safety Officer, This hands-on position provides direct support for an increasingly diverse Bates College community utilizing excellent customer service skills. Campus Safety Officers will engage and support students, guests and stakeholders from historically underrepresented groups including students of color, LGBTQAIP2+ students, international students, students with disabilities, first-generation college students, and the student organizations dedicated to supporting these students on campus.
• Grounds & Maintenance Worker, The Grounds & Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds of all College owned properties.

• Retail Operations Manager Lewiston, ME The Retail Operations Manager holds a key leadership position focused on the Retail Operations segment, specifically overseeing the Bobcat Den and the Curb Cat Food Truck. This role encompasses both strategic planning support and front-line leadership. Functioning as the principal on-site leader, the Manager translates the organization’s operational standards into consistent daily execution throughout the retail dining domain.

The Assistant Coach focuses primarily in the areas of skill development, training, conditioning and performance of student-athletes, along with planning and directing recruitment and fiscal management of the program. This is a professional assistant coaching position, and all of the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of affiliated national, regional, and state intercollegiate athletic associations, the NCAA, the NESCAC Conference, and the College. In addition to their instructional duties, assistant coaches work in partnership with the Office of Admission to recruit, admit, and enroll an academically and athletically talented and diverse team of students. The position will assist with various recruitment projects assigned according to previous experiences and program needs. The Assistant Coach will have significant night and weekend commitments. The Assistant Coach will also have responsibilities to support the Athletics Department for operational initiatives, referred to as a secondary duty. This position reports to the Head Coach.

• Henry Luce Curatorial Fellow in American Art, The Henry Luce Curatorial Fellow in American Art is a three-year position designed to provide an advanced scholar of American art with comprehensive, hands-on professional experience in curation, education, scholarship, and stewardship. Reporting directly to the Director of Bates College Museum of Art and serving as a member of the curatorial team, the Fellow builds the Museum’s capacity during a period of momentum and growth. The role focuses on researching the permanent collection, organizing exhibitions, and fostering deep curricular integration with college faculty and students. The Fellow is a dedicated steward of the Marsden Hartley Memorial Collection and the Marsden Hartley Legacy Project, spearheading public-facing scholarly initiatives that engage both the campus community and global audiences.

• Third Cook (FT, FY) Lewiston, ME Staff holding a cook position primarily work in student dining providing approximately 5000 meals per day to the students, faculty, staff and guests of the college who dine in Commons. They are also called upon to prepare items for catered events as needed. As such, this position calls for someone who is able to safely, efficiently and consistently produce and present food in a high volume setting. A focus on providing outstanding customer service and exemplary organizational and time management skills are a must.

• Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Educator Lewiston, ME The Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Educator is responsible for providing individual nutrition counseling to students on campus and working with campus partners to develop and implement nutrition education for the full student population. The Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Educator works with Dining, Conferences, and Campus Events to provide clinical perspective on departmental operations and initiatives.

• Participates in weekly, team-shared, on-call rotation to investigate and resolve system outages and issues if needed.
• Provides technical support for a portfolio of self-hosted applications-including open- source, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and internally developed systems-as well as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions, including but not limited to Microsoft SQL Server, WordPress, Moodle, Evisions MAPS, Ellucian Banner, and other enterprise applications.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

• Experience working with relational database systems such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, or equivalent
• Experience supporting solutions hosted on Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux environments and connecting to remote environments.
• Experience working with source control systems, configuration management software, or Docker/Kubernetes is desired.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Argos, Cognos, or other enterprise reporting tools to support business and operational reporting is preferred.
• Experience with system implementation and upgrades.
