Sr. Software Quality Assurance Engineer and Tester

• Establish and maintain a test laboratory with workstations and devices configured across diverse hardware, firmware, and software baselines.
• Perform operating system image testing, upgrade-in-place testing, GPO functionality testing, and firmware and driver validation.
• Develop and execute formal test plans covering installation, upgrade, uninstall, and rollback scenarios.
• Validate detection methods and installation switches; assess functionality in both user and system execution contexts; verify reboot behavior.
• Implement automated system, integration, and regression testing processes.
• Execute approved automated test scripts to validate baseline and ABA images, application updates, and security patches.
• Maintain execution logs with time-stamped pass/fail results and reproducible defect documentation.
• Provide go/no-go recommendations to the Government prior to production deployment.
• Maintain a centralized software validation repository.
• Track test status, defects, and remediation in the asset and service management system.
• Support user acceptance testing and stakeholder review sessions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior test lab staff.

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in enterprise IT test lab or endpoint validation environments.
• Demonstrated expertise designing and executing structured hardware and software testing across multiple platforms.
• Experience documenting test results, identifying defects, and validating deployments.
• Experience supporting test automation.
• Demonstrated ability to align testing with configuration, security, and release standards.
• Experience developing formal written test plans for new and upgraded software.
• Experience with Windows operating system image testing, including baseline images and security hardening.
• Experience with Group Policy Object testing - deployment, enforcement, inheritance, and conflict resolution.
• Experience with firmware and driver validation across multiple hardware platforms.
• Experience mentoring junior test lab staff., * ISTQB or comparable software testing certification.
• Prior federal or IRS experience.
• Active or recent federal suitability determination.
• Experience with MECM, Intune, or BigFix.
• Hyper-V or VMware experience for virtual test environments., * US Citizenship required

• Documenting test results: 1 year (Required)

• Must be able to obtain and maintain an IRS High-Risk Background Investigation.
• Must pass a 7-panel SAMHSA drug screening (marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, 6-acetylmorphine, PCP, methamphetamine). Employer pays testing costs.
• Background investigation must be initiated before starting work. All clearance forms are due within five business days of contract award.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
