AIML - Sr. Software Development Engineer, Evaluation

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the backend development of Apple’s Annotation Platform within the Evaluation org, enabling efficient data generation, collection, and evaluation for ML models. You’ll collaborate with ML engineers and cross-functional teams to design scalable, high-performance services while safeguarding user data. You’ll mentor peers, drive architectural decisions, and tackle complex challenges under tight timelines. Pay / Benefits * Lead backend design and development of the Annotation Platform to optimize data generation/collection for ML evaluation * Collaborate with ML engineers and cross-domain teams from concept to deployment * Ensure system stability, reliability, and performance through robust testing and architecture * Mentor engineers and foster a collaborative learning environment * Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality * Communicate technical and architectural challenges clearly to stakeholders and frontend partners * Balance innovative solutions with practical constraints to maximize impact * Drive self-service tooling and support for data/ML workflows Tasks * Java proficiency with in-depth software design knowledge * Spring Boot framework expertise, REST API development, and microservices experience * Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and data model design * Cloud experience, specifically AWS, and hybrid ecosystems * ETL pipelines, stream processing, and batch data processing familiarity (plus) * BS/MS in Computer Science, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering, or related field * Strong testing framework experience and emphasis on code quality * Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams * Hands-on experience in building scalable, high-performance web applications * Strong focus on trade-offs and problem-solving for complex technical challenges Key requirements *
