Top Secret Systems Security Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Top Secret Systems Security Engineer to support a secure government environment in Dahlgren, VA. This role focuses on vulnerability management, security assessments, system hardening, and risk mitigation across enterprise systems and networks. Candidates must have 5-8 years of cybersecurity experience, an active Top Secret clearance, and a current IAT Level II certification. The ideal candidate will have experience using DoD network analysis tools such as ACAS and HBSS/Trellix Endpoint Security, conducting vulnerability scans and assessments, remediating security findings, performing risk analysis, and identifying security vulnerabilities through the review of system and configuration data. This individual will play a key role in strengthening the organization’s security posture by identifying security weaknesses, mitigating cyber risks, and supporting mission-critical systems. Pay for this role ranges from $57-$59/hour, based on experience.

*Active Top Secret Clearance *Active IAT Level II Certification *5-8 years of Systems Security, Cybersecurity, and/or Information Assurance experience *Experience conducting vulnerability assessments, remediation, risk analysis, and security compliance activities using ACAS, Nessus, and DISA STIGs *Hands-on experience with DoD security tools, including ACAS and/or HBSS/Trellix Endpoint Security *Experience troubleshooting cybersecurity infrastructure issues and implementing system/network hardening *Knowledge of network security concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and directory services *Experience with Windows and/or Linux administration

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

*Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field *Knowledge of Zero Trust and Defense-in-Depth security frameworks *Experience with IDS/IPS technologies, VPN security, and access control mechanisms *Familiarity with PKI, OAuth, SAML, or Identity & Access Management solutions
