This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex applications, improve development practices, and support high-impact technology initiatives through hands-on coding, testing, and problem-solving. Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, implement, and support complex applications built with Angular, Java, and AWS cloud technologies.
  • Write clean, efficient code and help evaluate the feasibility of system designs and technical solutions.
  • Analyze existing applications, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to enhancements and maintenance efforts.
  • Support production systems by troubleshooting issues, resolving defects, and recommending updates to standards and development practices.
  • Review patches and new application versions, and assist with deployment activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, including daily scrums and project updates.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including use cases, scripts, and research notes.
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts and help strengthen development and delivery practices.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in core Java, Python, and NodeJS development.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular 8+ and front-end application development.
  • Background in Spring, Hibernate, SQL, JUnit, J2EE, Maven, JAXB, JSON, XML, microservices, and log4J2.
  • Experience working with REST APIs and DevSecOps practices.
  • Knowledge of AWS technologies, including serverless, containers, RDS, storage, and migration services.
  • Familiarity with reusable cloud patterns and cloud-based application services.
  • Experience with Bootstrap, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, and unit testing tools such as Jest, Karma, or Jasmine.
  • Ability to solve problems independently, think critically, and make sound technical decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
  • Comfort working in Agile teams and participating in daily collaboration routines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in a cloud environment.
  • Exposure to infrastructure and configuration design within technology teams.
  • Ability to translate technical details into clear, non-technical language.
  • Experience contributing to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts.
  • A collaborative mindset with a strong interest in continuous improvement.

Horizontal is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, respected, and supported. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and are dedicated to building a team culture grounded in equity, belonging, and opportunity for everyone.
