Principal Hardware Test Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead hardware test and verification activities for complex multi-domain systems within the SEIT team in Cincinnati. You’ll shape test plans, execute qualification tests, and report results to stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and traceability. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to troubleshoot issues and drive robust test solutions. This position offers onsite work with a clear mission in national security and opportunities to influence how test programs scale across programs. Compensation / Benefits * Develop hardware test requirements and integration test plans, procedures, readiness reviews (TRRs), data, and reports * Execute hardware qualification testing per requirements and procedures * Lead cross-functional testing in lab and field environments * Manage test equipment design, development, and integration of data acquisition systems * Perform data analysis, identify anomalies, and generate comprehensive test reports * Conduct formal technical reviews (TRRs) with internal and external stakeholders * Act as the primary technical contact during test events and manage customer expectations * Troubleshoot complex hardware/software/mechanical failures and perform root-cause analyses Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related test experience, or Master’s with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year * Experience authoring hardware test procedures and managing hardware test facility interfaces * Experience with hardware test execution, diagnostics, and requirement traceability * Proficiency with standard test equipment (RF meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) * Proficiency in LabVIEW, MATLAB, or Python; familiarity with hardware test interfaces (Ethernet TCP/IP, USB, GPIB, RS-232/RS-422) * Active US Government Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one * US Citizenship and willingness to work 100% onsite Key requirements * health insurance * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO) * discretionary bonus
