Job description

Experteer Overview As a Senior EPMS Engineer, you will oversee Electrical EPMS designs for Microsoft’s datacenter projects, from Basis of Design to construction release. You will lead A/E consultants and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant, high-quality electrical distribution, controls, and monitoring systems. You’ll manage design, procurement, manufacturing, and on-site installation, while aligning with Microsoft standards. This role blends engineering depth with project leadership across large-scale datacenter builds and retrofits. You’ll contribute to secure, reliable power systems that support the company’s cloud services and global infrastructure. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate with Global Datacenter Engineering to develop EPMS designs from BOD to IFC for new builds and retrofits * Lead and direct A/E consultants in EPMS design coordination with electrical distribution and topology for datacenters * Manage EPMS system designs through design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery and on-site installation; resolve construction issues * Interface with procurement, manufacturers, and engineering teams to deliver EPMS solutions per project * Oversee specification and drawings detailing operation sequences for electrical systems and topology * Conduct technical reviews of lease/colocation datacenter spaces for compliance with Microsoft requirements * Assist Operations with EPMS system improvements, working with vendors and suppliers * Travel for on-site testing, vendor interaction, and commissioning of installed systems * Knowledge of cyber security practices related to networking and EPMS deployment Tasks * Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience * Detailed understanding of EPMS, BCMS, PLCs, UPS, generators, switchgear, and protective relays * Experience with high-voltage distribution, power Transformers, earthing, and switching * Familiarity with building codes and regulatory requirements * Experience with server platforms, virtualization, data management, and disaster recovery planning * Knowledge of network design, redundancy, and security strategies for data centers * Ability to read construction drawings and coordinate with construction teams * Experience in designing and commissioning electrical distribution systems from HV to branch circuits * Strong communication and leadership capabilities for leading engineers in large datacenter environments * Hands-on experience with FLISR, ADMS/SCADA integrations, SSO analysis, and AI-focused metering concepts Key requirements *
