Job description

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable backend services and APIs that support Expedia Group’s B2B partner ecosystem
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring
  • Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence
  • Participate in on-call (Tier 1) rotation, responding to incidents, troubleshooting production issues, and implementing long-term fixes
  • Contribute to technical design discussions and code reviews, helping to raise the quality bar across the team
  • Work within an agile team environment, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous delivery practices
  • Support the adoption of best practices around security, reliability, and observability across the systems you own

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in Java ( or JVM languages) and solid understanding of the JVM ecosystem
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and distributed, microservices-based systems
  • Hands-on experience with both relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
  • Experience participating in on-call rotations and incident response in a production environment
  • Proficient communication skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
