Job description
Responsible for supporting the risk management function by evaluating, analyzing, and challenging risks of varying complexity, including operational, data, and technology risks. Identifies and implements solutions to mitigate risk, strengthen controls, and promote effective risk management across business processes, data assets, systems, and technology-enabled initiatives. Provides risk-based guidance to management through expertise in risk management, data governance, technology controls, and regulatory requirements. Works under minimal supervision and applies a strong understanding of business objectives, operational processes, data management practices, and technology environments to support strategic initiatives and operational goals. Utilizes advanced risk assessment, issue management, root cause analysis, and control evaluation techniques to address risks associated with data management, and technology change. Typically requires a professional qualification in risk management or, * Plan the research for and development of specialized risk assessment scopes
- Collaborate with management and personnel to optimize risk assessment scope development
- Identify potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Gather and synthesize data; present conclusions and offer risk mitigation, remediation and process improvement solutions to management
- Lead/conduct and assists provide expertise in with the administration of specialized risk assessment and testing lifecycles of business activities, processes, policies and procedures for operational effectiveness and compliance with regulatory requirements, federal and state laws, and Navy Federalās quality control standards, policies and procedures
- Develop, lead and oversee efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and risk mitigation processes
- Prepare and present to management and/or affected business unit summaries, operational and regulatory risk assessment reports, trending, and remedial or mitigation solutions
Requirements
equivalent experience and demonstrates advanced proficiency in risk management methodologies and practices., * Complete knowledge and understanding of business area/specialization
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of risk-based auditing techniques and methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, company policies, and industry best practices
- Experience with managing multi-faceted projects simultaneously that have cross-departmental impact
- Advanced knowledge of operational and regulatory risk control concepts and practices
- Proven ability to plan, organize and effectively execute risk mitigation and process improvement initiatives
- Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
- Advanced research and analytical skills
- Bachelorās Degree in Business Administration, Auditing, or related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience, * Masterās Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Partner with business, technology, and data governance stakeholders to identify, assess, and monitor Data and Technology Risk exposures, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk management standards and governance requirements.
- Analyze technology-enabled processes, data flows, system controls, and operational dependencies to identify control gaps, assess residual risk, and recommend sustainable risk mitigation strategies.
