Job description

Synapse is the digital front door to TDL. From a single web application, a client can track a result through the lab, view their invoices, book a courier, send results to their patients, and book patients into clinics. A leading UK digital agency is building the first version now and will hand over a working product and a design system. From the handover this team owns Synapse and keeps shipping, building it out module by module. There is a real chance to shape how we build software, not only to maintain what exists., This is a hybrid team, and largely a remote one. People come into the office for workshops and team meetings rather than daily, which in practice tends to mean a few days a month. Beyond that, people shape their own time. We trust the team to run their own diaries: when to be in, when a meeting is better held face to face, when we are working as a group, and when the work is done best from home. We are looking for people mature enough to make those calls well. We run in sprints and ship in small, quiet, modular releases rather than big-bang versions. The aim is continuous deployment and continuous iteration. At TDL we offer a variety of excellent staff benefits including:

  • Training and development opportunities - supporting professional development

  • Annual salary review - salary and progression are aligned to our internal transparent pay structure (Progression Plus), supporting career development and structured annual salary reviews

  • Discounted gym membership - we have a corporate gym membership scheme with Better Gyms

  • Cash healthcare plan - cash back on a variety of healthcare costs including dentist and opticians

Requirements

You are comfortable in server-side technologies like ASP.NET, and have experience in a JavaScript framework like React. You understand that technologies evolve and are always curious to learn. You are happy working in an enterprise environment, particularly figuring out how to integrate as part of an ecosystem of legacy technologies and messages. You like to own the whole feature from concept to delivery, and you like interacting with the end users and getting direct feedback. You have a strong belief that code should be well tested, easy to read and secure by design. You want to make a product that is both functional and beautiful. Core technologies: C# ASP.NET, React, SQL Server. Desirable experience: Experience with DevOps and Kubernetes. Experience working in a regulated environment like healthcare.
