Job description

We are seeking an Assistant to work in our Cloud Accounting team. The work is varied and ranges from assisting with requests to our Xero and Quickbooks mailbox through to assisting with projects such as migrations to Xero.

This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified or equivalent, who is seeking to work on something different within practice. You will be responsible for working on a variety of clients’ affairs and be an integral part of this exciting, growing area of the business.

The responsibilities

  • Overseeing our Dext and Xero accounts including adding new companies and updating user rights.
  • Preparing the workings for disbursing software costs to clients.
  • Overseeing the internal mailboxes and responding to internal queries with the assistance of the Cloud team senior.
  • Assisting with project work including the migration of accounting data onto cloud software.
  • Researching 3 rd party accounting software to build Saffery’s knowledge and assist colleagues with advising their clients.
  • Attending key software events with the Cloud team.

Our cloud accounting services team regularly review the fast-moving cloud market to ensure that we’re up to date with the latest technologies.

The candidate would be working within a warm close-knit team, alongside managers who would oversee and delegate tasks and supervise.

Requirements

  • Preferably AAT qualified or an accounting graduate.
  • Strong numeracy and accuracy skills, along with the ability to learn quickly.
  • A good knowledge of Excel and Xero is preferable but not essential
  • Understanding of other accounting systems, including cloud-based systems such as Dext Prepare, Sage and QuickBooks Online would be helpful, but is not an essential requirement.
  • Hard working, show initiative and be self-motivated, with the ability to organise their own workload.
  • Have the confidence and ability to communicate effectively with managers, partners and clients.
  • A natural team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and excellent eye for detail.

  • A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10-4)

  • Eligibility for the firm’s Profit-Sharing Plan. Paid in December.
