Job description
The Full Stack Application Developer is responsible for supporting the design, development, enhancement, and deployment of software applications used across local, networked, cloud-based, and internet-facing environments. This individual will leverage experience with modern programming languages, development tools, and delivery methodologies to build scalable and reliable solutions that meet business and operational needs.
Working closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, end users, and fellow developers, the Full Stack Application Developer will contribute to the full software development lifecycle. This role requires a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly solutions.
Key Responsibilities Analyze and validate business and system requirements to support the development of software solutions. Assist in creating detailed technical specifications, application designs, and programming documentation. Design, develop, test, and deploy front-end and back-end application components using modern programming languages and frameworks. Write, review, debug, and optimize code while collaborating with senior engineers to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Support the integration of applications with databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and third-party systems. Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain documentation, installation procedures, and software support materials. Participate in code reviews, testing activities, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure application quality, performance, and security. Engage stakeholders, including users, developers, business analysts, and project managers, to gather feedback, address project concerns, and manage expectations throughout the development lifecycle. Contribute to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions. Monitor application performance and assist with maintenance, upgrades, and issue resolution. Stay informed on emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices, and share knowledge with the broader team through training and collaboration. Salary $96k-$123k
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or in lieu of a degree, at least 3 years of experience in application development or application engineering 2+ years of experience in software development, specifically in application development engineering Familiarity in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby Experience in software development tools such as Git or Jenkins Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Specific knowledge/experience: Ignition 8.1 / Perspective Python, Java, JavaScript, C / C++, SQL, and MQTT protocol. A working knowledge of JIRA is a plus but not required. As part of a team, this position will be working closely within the IT team as well as Engineering. Database knowledge: Oracle, SQL Server, ADX, Snowflake, Redis, PostGres Reporting tools: Tableau, Seeq, Grafana Solace event broker
