Job description

The Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making across the organization by analyzing business data to support and enhance the rollout of operational insights, reporting tools and data products. This role partners closely with IT and business units to connect business needs with technical solutions, ensuring data products deliver actional insights and measurable value. The Data Analyst will act as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clarity, alignment and successful delivery of data initiatives.

A typical day will include the following:

  • Elicit, document, and validate business and data requirements, including constraints and dependencies.
  • Perform gap analysis on source data and identify data quality issues.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the organization’s operational workflows, base data models and related data products.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to design and prototype reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
  • Liaise with technical teams to support cross-system integrations and data flows.
  • Support debugging and enhancement of existing activations.
  • Support the data governance team with standards and best practices.
  • Pay Range $77,000-86,000.
  • Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience working with insurance business processes, business analysis, data analysis or a combination of thereof.
  • Strong ability to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Ability to query, process, and interpret data; identify patterns, anomalies, and insights.
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, DataBricks and data modeling concepts as well as understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and ETL processes preferred.
  • Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or similar)
  • Basic proficiency in Python, R, or similar for data manipulation and automation.
  • Skilled at translating technical concepts into business language.
