Job description

We are seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead a growing team responsible for building and evolving the organization’s modern data ecosystem. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine people leadership, technical strategy, architecture, and hands on engineering while partnering closely with senior leadership on high impact initiatives.

The Data Engineering Manager will oversee a team of Data and Platform Engineers while remaining actively involved in data engineering efforts, architecture decisions, and platform development. This individual will play a key role in advancing the organization’s Snowflake journey, maturing data engineering practices, and driving the delivery of scalable, analytics ready solutions that support enterprise decision making., * Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers and Platform Engineers while fostering a high performing and collaborative culture

  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and career development activities
  • Design, build, and optimize enterprise data pipelines, data warehouses, and modern data architectures
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across data engineering initiatives
  • Develop and support dimensional models, business data models, and analytics ready datasets
  • Establish and enforce best practices related to data quality, governance, lineage, and engineering standards
  • Create and maintain source to target mappings and oversee enterprise data integration efforts
  • Partner with business leaders and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Support the ongoing evolution of modern cloud and data platform capabilities, including Snowflake initiatives
  • Contribute hands on to development, scripting, troubleshooting, and solution delivery when needed
  • Drive adoption of modern engineering tools, automation, and AI assisted development practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to define long term data strategy, governance frameworks, and platform roadmaps

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Data Platform Engineering, or related disciplines
  • 3+ years of experience leading technical teams with direct responsibility for hiring, performance management, coaching, and team development
  • Proven track record building, mentoring, and scaling high performing engineering teams
  • Strong hands on experience developing end to end data pipelines and enterprise data integration solutions
  • Expertise with Apache Airflow for orchestration and workflow management
  • Experience with dbt and/or Coalesce for data transformation and modeling
  • Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, Kimball methodology, and Data Vault 2.0 principles
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise data warehouse and data lake architectures
  • Strong data architecture background with experience building scalable analytics platforms
  • Experience developing source to target mappings and managing complex data integration initiatives
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, data quality standards, lineage, and analytics best practices
  • Experience balancing people leadership responsibilities with hands on technical contribution
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams
  • Experience presenting recommendations and technical strategies to department leaders and executive stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational maturity, process improvement, and engineering excellence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field preferred
  • Master’s degree is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake and modern cloud based data platforms
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting and analytics environments
  • Knowledge of Cognos, Sigma, SQL Server, or similar enterprise data technologies
  • Experience within financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries
  • Exposure to Alteryx
  • Experience utilizing AI enabled development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cortex, or similar platforms
