Development Manager

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the Development Manager oversees and coordinates resource development, relationship management, project management, and communications for The Enterprise Center Community Development Corporation (TEC-CDC) and its affiliates. This position plays a central role in securing and stewarding funding for TEC-CDC’s programs by researching and writing grants, managing the organization’s development-related project timelines, maintaining TEC-CDC’s public-facing digital presence (website and social media), and producing clear, accurate reporting for funders and internal stakeholders. The Development Manager works closely with the Executive Vice President, program leaders, and the executive team to advance TEC-CDC’s fundraising and visibility goals.

Grant Sourcing, Writing & Reporting

• Research and identify prospective funding sources, including local, state, federal, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities aligned with TEC-CDC’s mission and programs.
• Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals and letters of inquiry; generate proposal language based on funder guidelines and TEC-CDC’s existing program portfolio.
• Track application deadlines, submission requirements, and funder communications to ensure a well-managed grant pipeline.
• Collect qualitative and quantitative data from program leaders to support funder and internal reporting.
• Prepare and submit timely, accurate grant reports (monthly, quarterly, and year-end) to funding sources and stakeholders in the format each funder requires.
• Maintain donor and funder records in TEC-CDC’s database, tracking proposal status, awards, and reporting deadlines.
• Use AI tools to support drafting and editing of grant proposals, reports, and other development content, always reviewing and revising AI-assisted output for accuracy, originality, and organizational voice; AI tools may not be used to copy or reproduce funder, donor, or third-party material verbatim.

Project Management

• Manage development-related projects and initiatives from planning through execution, keeping timelines, budgets, and deliverables on track.
• Coordinate across departments (programs, accounting, executive team) to gather information and resources needed to meet project and funding milestones.
• Spearhead special projects assigned by the Director of Development or executive team, providing regular status updates.
• Support planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns, managing logistics, timelines, and vendor/partner coordination.

Social Media Management

• Develop and execute a social media content calendar to promote TEC-CDC’s programs, funding successes, and events across relevant platforms.
• Create and schedule engaging posts, graphics, and stories that build TEC-CDC’s brand and donor engagement.
• Monitor social media performance metrics and adjust strategy to grow reach and engagement.
• Ensure social media messaging is consistent with TEC-CDC’s brand voice and coordinated with fundraising campaigns and events.

Website Management

• Maintain and update TEC-CDC’s website content, ensuring accuracy of program information, events, funder acknowledgments, and calls to action.
• Coordinate with staff and outside vendors on website updates, design changes, and troubleshooting.
• Use website analytics to inform content strategy and improve visitor engagement and donation conversion.

Relationship Management & General Administration

• Liaise with program staff and departments on grant and contract opportunities and related programmatic outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with funder contacts and partner agencies to maintain strong working relationships.
• Maintain development department files, records, and documentation, both digital and hard copy.
• Participate in strategic planning meetings and TEC-wide activities (e.g., all-staff meetings) as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or fundraising.
• Demonstrated success researching, writing, and securing grant funding.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Hands-on experience managing organizational social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X) and content calendars.
• Experience updating and maintaining website content (e.g., WordPress or similar CMS).
• Proven ability to write clearly and persuasively for a range of audiences, including funders, donors, and the public.
• Ability to synthesize and report narrative and numerical data for funder and internal reporting.
• Comfortable working with budgets and financial data - able to read program and organizational financials well enough to translate them into clear, accurate funder reporting and proposal narratives.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, donor management/database software, and social media/website platforms.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing competing deadlines.
• Genuine ease working with people at every level - board members, funders, program staff, and community residents alike.
