Infrastructure Architect - Apigee, Kafka & MongoDB

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and optimize resilient enterprise infrastructure and integration platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Apigee, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, observability platforms, and AI-enabled solutions. This role will focus on building scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructures that support modern enterprise applications and business-critical data flows., * Design and implement scalable infrastructure architectures leveraging Apigee, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AI-enabled chatbot platforms.

• Develop secure and resilient integration patterns to support distributed applications and APIs.

• Architect and optimize database environments, including indexing, partitioning, backup, and lifecycle management strategies.

• Build and maintain observability solutions using Grafana and Splunk for monitoring, alerting, and performance analysis.

• Collaborate with application, data, and security teams to establish infrastructure standards and best practices.

• Support the deployment and integration of AI-powered chatbot platforms and Cognizant Gen AI solutions.

• Drive infrastructure automation initiatives for provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring.

• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimization across databases, messaging platforms, and infrastructure components.

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, reference architectures, and operational procedures.

• Translate business requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise technology roadmaps.

• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, regulatory requirements, identity management, encryption, and monitoring controls.

• 8-10 years of experience in Infrastructure Architecture, Platform Engineering, or Enterprise Infrastructure roles.

• Strong experience with Apigee API Management and Apache Kafka .

• Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL and MongoDB administration and optimization.

• Experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Grafana and Splunk .

• Knowledge of infrastructure automation, configuration management, and monitoring best practices.

• Experience designing secure and scalable hybrid infrastructure environments.

• Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity management, encryption, and compliance controls.

• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and supporting AI-enabled chatbot solutions.

• Exposure to Cognizant Gen AI tools or similar Generative AI platforms.

• Experience with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure environments.

• Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Experience architecting highly available and fault-tolerant systems.

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000- $132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
