Job description

This role sits at the centre of OCU Digital’s growing Technology function, supporting the delivery of a scalable, secure, and high-performing multi-cloud environment across Azure and GCP. Working closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams, you will help shape cloud strategy, drive automation, and enhance platform resilience to support innovation across the business. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining platform stability, leading incident response and root cause analysis, and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions using tools such as Terraform and Bicep. You will champion automation, optimise cloud operations, and ensure compliance with security and governance standards. This is an opportunity to take ownership of enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure, influence multi-cloud architecture, and contribute to the development of best practices that will have a lasting impact across the organisation. You’ll also play a key role in documenting cloud solutions, enabling colleagues through training, and driving the adoption of cloud technologies across the business.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, with exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Good understanding of cloud security, Identity & Access Management (IAM), encryption, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience working collaboratively with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams
  • Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable experience:

  • Automation and scripting using PowerShell and/or Python
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with security and business continuity standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO 22301.
  • Relevant Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud certifications.
