Software Developer

We are seeking a passionate and innovative forward-thinking developer to work for on ouf our global logistics clients.

The Developer plays a key role in designing, building and maintaining global parcel delivery and ecommerce platforms used across multiple regions. The role focuses on developing scalable backend services, robust API integrations and high volume processing capabilities that support routing, tracking, label generation and operational workflows.

Working within the Supplier Management or Shipping Solutions Team, you will collaborate with Product Owners, Systems Analysts, QA and other developers to deliver reliable platform functionality. The role requires strong engineering discipline, accurate implementation of system behaviour and effective participation in Agile delivery teams.

Your work contributes directly to carrier onboarding, processing systems, routing logic, tracking event behaviour and integration workflows across Group platforms

Duties

Backend and Integration Development

• Develop scalable backend features supporting routing, label generation, tracking events and parcel processing
• Build and maintain API workflows between carriers, retailers and internal systems following agreed specifications
• Implement integration behaviour for onboarding new carriers and suppliers with accurate payload handling
• Produce clean, maintainable code aligned with engineering standards
• Support CI and CD pipelines, automation and deployment quality

Collaboration and Technical Workflow

• Work with Product Owners to understand feature goals and support accurate implementation
• Collaborate with Systems Analysts to clarify system behaviour, payload structures, routing logic and data flows
• Support QA through clear explanations of expected outcomes and assistance with debugging
• Participate in refinement, sprint planning, daily collaboration and review sessions
• Contribute to team knowledge sharing and consistent engineering practices

System Behaviour and Reliability

• Resolve system issues using logs, payload traces and workflow analysis
• Improve reliability by identifying weaknesses in processing, routing or API behaviour
• Implement features that follow functional requirements and acceptance criteria documented in Jira
• Support onboarding activities by validating payloads, event behaviour and integration consistency

Continuous Improvement and Engineering Discipline

• Suggest improvements to code structure, performance and automation
• Contribute to engineering standards and shared development practices
• Support documentation including diagrams, integration details and technical notes
• Collaborate within Agile squads to improve delivery efficiency and shared understanding

• Strong backend engineering capability with experience building scalable systems
• Skilled in developing and maintaining API integrations using REST, SFTP and webhook based patterns
• Able to interpret JSON and XML payloads, data mapping and integration structures
• Confident debugging issues using logs, traces and system analysis
• Understanding of microservices, distributed systems and cloud based environments
• Familiar with CI and CD pipelines, automation and code quality practices
• Experience working with multi carrier label systems, routing logic and tracking event behaviour
• Knowledge of parcel processing systems and high volume logistics workflows
• Familiar with global ecommerce ecosystems and multi region technical environments
• Strong collaboration skills across Product Owners, Systems Analysts, QA and fellow developers
• Experience working within Agile squads using tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Experience with global carrier and processing platforms including A Track, A Carrier, ACA, Control Tower, OOH and A1 Processing Tool

• Background in logistics, parcel operations, ecommerce or large scale transactional platforms is beneficial
• Effective working with Product Owners, Systems Analysts, QA and fellow developers
• Able to contribute to continuous improvement across engineering practices and team processes
• Comfortable with integration heavy environments and multi system data flows
• Able to manage workload effectively within a fast paced delivery organisation

Pay: £65,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
