Full job description

Corporate Gray has been connecting military veterans with the best government and government contractor roles for over 30 years, and we are bringing a series of opportunities with one of the most prestigious federal government agencies to Hampton Roads.

Your current job has a competitor. This one has an adversary.

Does this sound like you? You run networks, defend systems, or move data for a living, and lately the work feels small. You want the problem to matter. You want the other side of the keyboard to be someone worth beating.

You still want to serve the mission. You would just rather do it without the uniform, and without the parts of military life that stopped fitting.

If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Who we are already looking for

Norfolk is a cyber and signals town, so we are starting with the people who already do this work in it.

Navy first. IT, CTN, CTI, CTR, and IS ratings. Cyber warfare and cryptologic officers. Information Warfare community out of Little Creek, Dam Neck, and Naval Station Norfolk.

Army 17-series cyber and 25-series signal, including 25B and 25D. Air Force 1D7, 3D0, and 1B4 out of Langley. Marine 06-series and 17-series.

Network engineers and system administrators. Cybersecurity and cyber defense. Cloud and infrastructure. Software developers, data engineers, and data scientists. Digital forensics.

This side of the house hires mostly bachelor-degreed talent. Cyber warfare officers, signals officers, and the enlisted technical leaders who ran these shops: you are exactly who this is for.

What the work is

Enterprise IT that has to work when the stakes are real. Networks that get attacked by people with a national budget behind them. Cyber defense, software, and data work that ships because the mission moved, not because a sprint ended. Some of it is at a desk. Some of it deploys with the field teams.

The event

Show up at 9:00 in Norfolk on Thursday, August 20th. From 9:00 to 10:30 you learn exactly what this is and what these careers look like. If you like what you hear, interviews run from 10:30 until 3:00 that same day. Come prepared to talk. People walk out of this event with a real path forward.

Pre-register through this posting. The exact location goes out to you once you are registered and verified.

Keep the mission, lose the uniform

You spent years building skills the country paid to train. This is a way to keep using them without starting over.

There is a path to convert your military experience into federal civil service. There is a way to still earn a 20-year retirement doing it, just not in uniform. Some of these roles keep you close to home. Some of them take you around the world. You get a say in which., * Salary: $69,287.00 to $183,500.00 per year, depending on the role, your experience, and your grade

  • Event: In person, Norfolk, VA, Thursday, August 20th, starting at 9:00
  • Benefits: government retirement plan, childcare, dental insurance, flexible spending account, flextime, health insurance

This same agency is also hiring maintenance and trades techs, engineers, logistics and security officers, analysts, linguists, medical staff, and managers. Different background? Come anyway and ask.
