Job description

HP is looking for a talented and motivated engineer to join our Workstations R&D team. We are seeking an engineer with a strong passion for low-level development and hands-on hardware experience.

Responsibilities

  • You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, helping to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge workstation solutions used by some of the world’s most demanding customers.

  • As an engineer on the HP Z Workstations team, you will design, develop, debug, and maintain UEFI system firmware (BIOS) to deliver innovative solutions to customers.

  • You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with early access to unreleased hardware and software, gaining broad technical experience while solving complex customer problems.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate has excellent troubleshooting skills, a drive to identify root cause, and the ability to work effectively across teams.

  • You should be innovative, self-motivated, quality-focused, and possess strong communication and technical skills.

  • Professional experience in firmware development

  • Strong C programming skills.

  • Experience with UEFI/BIOS, microcontrollers, embedded systems or other low-level code.

  • Experience with debuggers, protocol analyzers, and software development tools.

  • Knowledge of hardware-software integration and low-level system design.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Benefits & conditions

The pay range for this role is $93,400 to $143,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
