Job description

  • Responsible for the design, development and maintenance of Accounting/Finance reporting and analytics.
  • Also responsible for the construction of basic to advanced SQL (Oracle / SQL Server) that provides the necessary data to support the business and/or feed our BI platforms.., * Gather user requirements and facilitate recurring and/or ad hoc reports/data requests used by the business for ongoing analytical and operational needs with a quick turn-around time.
  • Prepare Datasets and Reports using basic to advanced SQL (Oracle / SQL Server) and that provide the necessary information for various departments in the business.
  • Construct Business Intelligence solutions using Business Objects (Information Design Tool (IDT) & Web Intelligence), Excel, or other analytical tools available.
  • Prioritize requests in conjunction with accounting department and IT on periodic consistent basis.
  • Develop financial/accounting reports to analyze revenues, costs, expenses, transactions, and trends related to financial performance.
  • Facilitate the effective use of data within accounting and other related business units while ensuring completeness, accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Support the creation, implementation, communication and ongoing support of data standards and processes to ensure standardized data naming, establishing consistent data definitions and monitoring overall data quality.
  • Provide education and application support to internal users of the business intelligence applications including the accounting department.
  • Define and document solutions developed, policies, procedures, and new processes for existing and future BI solutions.
  • Audit and analyze application data, when requested by management.
  • Act as a liaison between business users, management, Data Warehouse/Architecture and application system IT support.
  • Assist with exception reporting and engage with business and IT to address existing exceptions.
  • Assist with understanding and refining of business requirements to support business and BI initiatives.
  • Perform other job related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.., * Minimum 2 years experience within Information Technology, Business Intelligence and Database, developing data visualizations, end user reports and performing data analysis, using BI Platforms including Business Objects and Power BI (Web Intelligence, Information Design Tool (IDT)). 2+ years of relevant accounting/financial reporting experience.

  • Masters degree preferred.
  • PeopleSoft and or Project Management experience a plus..

COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:

  • Strong background developing end user reports and performing data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of accounting / financial reporting.
  • End to end knowledge of business intelligence and data warehousing architectures.
  • Fundamental understanding of data management systems and processes within the ecosystem (source systems, data feeds, reference data management, ETL, Data Warehouses and Marts, etc).).
  • Strong RDBMS background, have excellent SQL skills..
