Job description

The GIS Specialist I works under the direction of the GIS Manager and project managers across the company to create a wide variety of maps and geospatial data products. A successful candidate will thrive on constant learning and problem solving in a fast paced consulting environment., Create professional maps using ArcGIS Pro for reports and proposals.

Work closely with scientists and engineers to integrate GIS processes into existing workflows.

Compile, clean, and organize datasets from internal sources, public agencies, and field collection apps.

Assist with GPS data processing and map preparation for field crews.

Requirements

BS or BA in Geography, GIS, or related field and 0-2 years of direct experience.

Associate’s degree will be considered with additional experience.

Required Skills:

Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, work on multiple projects concurrently, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High attention to detail.

Highly skilled with Esri GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.

Proficient user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Working knowledge of coordinate systems, cartographic principles, and GIS data management.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience with high-accuracy GNSS systems and working knowledge of GNSS principles.

Strong ArcGIS Online knowledge, including Experience Builder, Field Maps, and Arcade scripting.

Experience working with CAD files in a GIS environment, including DWG and DGN files.

Prior experience in environmental consulting or geotechnical engineering.

Licensing or Certification requirements:

Valid driver’s license and pass MVR as required.
