Cyber Security SOC Specialist - INTL Brazil

We are seeking an experienced SOC Leader to provide governance and oversight of a globally outsourced Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. This is a critical hire requiring a seasoned cybersecurity professional who can operate independently from day one, serve as a subject matter expert, and provide technical leadership across threat detection, incident response, and recovery functions.

This position is focused on governing and directing managed security service providers rather than performing hands-on analyst duties. The SOC Leader will oversee offshore security teams distributed globally, ensuring service quality, operational effectiveness, and continuous improvement across both IT and OT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide governance and operational oversight of managed SOC services, including threat detection, incident response, and recovery functions.

• Act as the primary escalation point for cybersecurity incidents and SOC-related service issues.

• Lead major incident response efforts, including containment, recovery, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.

• Own threat intelligence strategy and ensure intelligence is operationalized into SOC processes.

• Define and improve detection use cases, SIEM content, logging standards, operational playbooks, and reporting.

• Manage service provider performance through KPI reviews, SLA management, and ongoing service assessments.

• Coordinate communications related to cybersecurity threats, incidents, and recovery activities.

• Deliver executive-level reporting on incidents, emerging threats, risks, and overall cybersecurity posture.

• Support cybersecurity initiatives, platform enhancements, and roadmap-driven projects across security operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

• 8-10+ years of experience in Security Operations and Incident Response.

• Previous experience leading or managing SOC operations (SOC Manager, SOC Lead, SOC Director, or similar).

• Strong experience overseeing managed security service providers (MSSPs).

• Deep understanding of SIEM, SOAR, EDR, threat intelligence, incident response, and threat hunting.

• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and standards including NIST, ISO 27001, and COBIT.

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity controls, security monitoring technologies, and incident management processes.

Proven ability to make critical security decisions and influence cross-functional teams * Experience supporting OT/industrial cybersecurity environments.

• Experience working with globally distributed security teams.

• Project management and change management experience.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCIA, CISM, or similar.
