Job description

Retronic Marketplace Limited is looking for a Part-Time QA Tester to help ensure the quality, reliability, and usability of our mobile applications and web platform.

You will work closely with our development team to test new features, identify defects, reproduce issues, verify fixes, and help us deliver a stable and polished experience to our users.

This is a hands-on testing role suitable for someone who enjoys finding problems before customers do and can clearly explain what went wrong, how to reproduce it, and what the expected behaviour should be., * Test our iOS and Android mobile applications and web application.

  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory and usability testing.
  • Test new features before they are released.
  • Identify bugs, inconsistencies, broken workflows and usability issues.
  • Create clear bug reports with screenshots, videos and reproducible steps.
  • Verify fixes provided by developers.
  • Test applications across different browsers, screen sizes and mobile devices.
  • Check complete user journeys rather than testing individual screens in isolation.
  • Identify edge cases and scenarios that developers may not have considered.
  • Validate that existing functionality continues to work after new releases.
  • Work with developers to understand requirements and expected behaviour.
  • Help improve our overall QA and release process.

Requirements

  • Experience testing mobile applications and/or web applications.
  • Good understanding of software testing and QA principles.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think from an end-user’s perspective.
  • Ability to reproduce and clearly document software defects.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with developers and providing clear feedback.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of testing tasks.

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial but is not essential:

  • Jira, GitHub Issues or similar bug-tracking tools.
  • Postman or API testing.
  • Chrome Developer Tools.
  • Android and iOS testing.
  • Cross-browser testing.
  • Basic SQL/database knowledge.
  • Automated testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Appium.
  • Testing e-commerce or marketplace applications.

Benefits & conditions

  • What happens if the user does something unexpected?
  • What happens when data is missing or incorrect?
  • Does this work on a different device or browser?
  • Is the behaviour consistent across mobile and web?
  • Could this change have broken another part of the application?
  • Would a real customer understand what they are seeing?

We value curiosity, attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.

Pay & Working Arrangement

£15.00 per hour

This is a part-time position. Working hours can be agreed based on project requirements and candidate availability.

If you enjoy finding bugs, challenging assumptions and helping build high-quality software, we’d like to hear from you.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
