Job description
Eagle Materials is seeking a highly skilled Senior MES Specialist to support and enhance the company’s Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) environment across multiple business units. This individual will serve as a critical technical resource responsible for maintaining, optimizing, troubleshooting, and improving MES-related systems and processes.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong functional MES knowledge and deeper technical infrastructure expertise, including experience with servers, databases, integrations, and manufacturing systems architecture. This role will work closely with operations, IT leadership, and business stakeholders to improve system performance, support upgrades, and drive proactive improvements across the manufacturing technology landscape. This is a highly visible role with significant impact on operational efficiency and long-term manufacturing systems strategy.
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and optimize enterprise MES environments across manufacturing operations
- Troubleshoot and resolve MES system issues, performance bottlenecks, and operational disruptions
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, infrastructure, and IT teams to diagnose and resolve system challenges
- Lead or support MES upgrades, enhancements, patches, and new feature implementations
- Identify opportunities for proactive system improvements and performance optimization
- Support back-end technical components including:
o Servers o Databases o System architecture o Integrations
- Assist in improving system reliability, scalability, and overall user experience
- Collaborate with existing internal MES resources and subject matter experts
- Support manufacturing-related applications tied to MES workflows and operational processes
- Participate in long-term modernization and Oracle-related initiatives impacting manufacturing systems
- Document technical configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on MES experience within manufacturing environments
- 5+ years supporting both functional and technical aspects of GE Plant Apps
- Strong understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and manufacturing operations workflows
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with:
o Servers o Databases o System performance analysis o Technical architecture
- Ability to work directly with operational stakeholders and technical teams
- Experience diagnosing system slowness, workflow inefficiencies, and production-related system issues
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Formula/MES environments or similar manufacturing systems
- Experience supporting enterprise manufacturing applications across multiple business units
- Familiarity with Oracle-related manufacturing initiatives or ERP integrations
- Experience supporting maintenance and manufacturing support platforms such as TabWare or similar systems
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, building materials, cement, paper, aggregates, or industrial environments preferred
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale manufacturing operations is a plus
