Job description

This is a relationship role. You are the trusted face of our service organization to the customers in your territory - warehouse managers, operations directors, fleet managers, and business owners who depend on their equipment running every day.

The foundation of this role is preventative maintenance agreements. You are not a one-call closer. You are building a book of recurring service relationships that you own, grow, and protect over time. Customers who trust you will call you first - for service, for parts, for rentals, for accessories, and eventually for everything.

If you are patient, consistent, and genuinely good with people, the earning potential in this role is significant and grows every year.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

PM Agreement Sales - Your Core Priority

¡ Prospect, present, and close preventative maintenance service contracts for forklifts and material handling equipment in your assigned territory

¡ Build a recurring book of PM agreements - this is the primary measure of your success and the engine of your long-term earnings

¡ Conduct on-site equipment assessments to identify service needs and recommend appropriate PM programs

¡ Renew and expand existing PM agreements annually - protect your book, grow your base

¡ Work closely with service technicians to make sure PM visits happen on time and customers are taken care of

Customer Relationships

¡ Own the relationships with warehouse managers, fleet managers, operations directors, and business owners in your territory

¡ Be the first call when a customer has an equipment issue, needs a rental unit, or is thinking about new equipment

¡ Conduct regular in-person visits and account check-ins - you are a familiar face, not just a name on a quote

¡ Maintain detailed records in CRM - contacts, equipment inventory, contract dates, follow-ups, and notes from every visit

Parts

¡ Identify and close opportunities for replacement and maintenance parts uncovered during PM visits, service calls, and account check-ins

¡ Partner with the Parts department to make sure customers get the right part, quickly, keeping their equipment running and their trust in you intact

· Recognize when a customer’s ongoing parts activity signals a bigger opportunity - a PM agreement, an accessory upgrade, or a conversation about replacement equipment

Allied Products & Accessories

¡ Identify and close opportunities for batteries, chargers, forks, attachments, safety products, and other material handling accessories

¡ Use PM visits and service calls as natural entry points for accessory and upgrade conversations

¡ Work with the equipment sales team when a customer opportunity grows into a full equipment replacement

Rentals

¡ Support short-term and long-term forklift rental placements for customers with temporary capacity needs

¡ Use rental placements as a relationship-builder and a path into longer-term PM and service agreements

¡ Coordinate rental logistics with the operations team

Safety Training & Compliance

¡ Promote and sell OSHA-compliant forklift operator safety training programs to customer accounts

¡ Position safety training as a value-added service that protects customers, reduces liability, and keeps their teams compliant

¡ Stay current on OSHA forklift safety requirements so you can speak knowledgeably with customers

Sales & Aftermarket Team Collaboration

¡ Work hand-in-hand with the Sales and Aftermarket teams so customers get a seamless experience across service, parts, rentals, and new equipment

· Generate and pass along qualified sales leads whenever a customer’s needs point toward new equipment or a major upgrade

¡ Share account intelligence with the Sales team - equipment age, usage patterns, upcoming budget cycles - so opportunities are never missed and customers are never double-contacted

Reporting & Team

¡ Submit weekly activity reports - calls, visits, proposals, contracts closed, pipeline status

¡ Attend team meetings, ride-alongs with management, and manufacturer product training

¡ Share customer feedback and competitive intelligence with management regularly

Requirements

¡ A relationship builder: You earn trust over time. Customers remember you and call you back.

¡ A self-starter: You manage your own calendar, your own pipeline, and your own territory without being micromanaged.

¡ Organized and consistent: You follow up. Nothing falls through the cracks. Customers can count on you.

¡ Comfortable on a dock floor: You are not afraid to walk a warehouse, talk to a forklift operator, or get your shoes dirty.

¡ Honest: You set realistic expectations with customers and with management. You do not overpromise., ¡ 2+ years of outside sales experience - service contracts, equipment, or industrial sales preferred

¡ Experience with forklifts, material handling, warehousing, or related industries is a strong advantage

¡ Comfortable conducting on-site equipment assessments and walkthroughs

¡ Strong written and verbal communication skills

¡ Proficient in CRM and Microsoft Office

· Valid driver’s license; able to travel within assigned territory daily

· High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus
