Job description
About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Databricks to join our team in Montreal or NYC. This role focuses on building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines and ETL processes that support our data platform. You’ll work closely with data engineering and analytics teams to design scalable, reliable systems.
Responsibilities * Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services supporting data ingestion and ETL workflows * Build and optimize data pipelines using Databricks * Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data from multiple sources into unified pipelines * Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following engineering best practices * Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in data processing pipelines * Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions * Work with CI/CD pipelines to support deployment of data engineering solutions * Document technical processes and pipeline architecture
Requirements
Required Qualifications * 5+ years of professional experience as a Java developer * Hands-on experience with Databricks (notebooks, clusters, job orchestration) * Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data ingestion processes * Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases * Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
