Job description

KIOXIA Americas, Inc. is seeking a Director of Data Center SSD Product Management to lead strategy, product lifecycle execution, and business growth for next-generation enterprise and hyperscale SSD solutions. This leader will define product vision, drive cross-functional execution, and work directly with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver differentiated storage products for modern data center workloads including AI, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale enterprise storage., Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of product managers.
  • Build strong partnerships across engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and support organizations to ensure successful product delivery.
  • Provide product positioning, competitive intelligence, and technical content for marketing collateral and sales enablement.
  • Champion the voice of the customer internally, ensuring product development aligns with real market needs.
  • Drive alignment across global teams and foster a collaborative, execution-focused culture.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills
  • Ability to influence internal teams and external C-suite stakeholders

Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management

  • Serve as the product leader and subject matter expert for KIOXIA’s data center SSD portfolio.
  • Define and execute product strategy, roadmap, and long-term technical vision for next-generation SSD solutions.
  • Own the full product lifecycle from concept and requirements through development, launch, and end-of-life.
  • Develop and maintain Landing zones and Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) that translate customer and market needs into product specifications.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging workloads to define differentiated product features and positioning.
  • Ensure product architectures align with evolving technologies including NVMe, PCIe, AI infrastructure, and hyperscale storage architectures.

Strategic Customer Engagement

  • Cultivate strong relationships with strategic enterprise, hyperscale, and data center customers.
  • Work closely with Biz dev, sales, and field engineering to support complex sales cycles and major design wins.
  • Oversee pre-sales technical support activities, including RFIs, RFQs, technical evaluations, and specification gap analysis.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for key customer engagements, ensuring successful deployment and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop account-specific strategies to grow wallet share and expand technology adoption.

Market Development & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for the SSD product portfolio.
  • Identify and drive new market opportunities, expanding presence across hyperscale, cloud, and data center segments.
  • Lead strategic engagements with hyperscalers and data center customers to identify growth opportunities and product requirements.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, translating market intelligence into actionable capture strategies.
  • Personally participate in strategic customer pursuits and executive briefings, leveraging deep product expertise to build credibility with senior decision-makers.
  • Represent KIOXIA as a thought leader at industry conferences, customer events, and analyst engagements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in SSD/NAND technologies with strong commercial leadership, capable of translating market trends and customer needs into winning product strategies and revenue growth., * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field required

  • MBA or advanced technical degree preferred, * 10+ years of experience in storage, SSD, NAND flash, or related data center infrastructure technologies
  • 5+ years of product management or business leadership experience within enterprise storage, servers, or data center hardware markets
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling enterprise technology products

Technical Expertise

  • Strong understanding of SSD architectures, NAND technologies, and storage system design
  • Familiarity with NVMe infrastructure and server/storage ecosystems
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, NAS/SAN/object storage systems
  • Ability to translate complex technical trends into clear product strategies and differentiated features
