- Windows, We are hiring Operational Cyber Software Engineers to join a highly skilled team delivering mission-critical capabilities across some of the UKs most challenging cyber and national security programmes. We offer onsite roles in Gloucester, Manchester or London with a salary of £60,000 to £83,000 plus excellent benefits. You will work alongside experts in software engineering, vulnerability research and cyber security on projects with real-world impact. We provide a dedicated training budget in your first year, opportunities to attend leading cyber security conferences and specialist training, clear career progression, ongoing mentorship, flexible working arrangements including part-time opportunities, a competitive pension and private healthcare package, and a minimum of 25 days annual leave plus additional benefits. We contribute to projects that directly support UK national security.
Requirements
- Commercial experience in software engineering.
- Strong programming skills in at least one language such as C++, Java or C#.
- Experience with utility or scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Linux, Windows or multiple operating systems.
- Experience with development tools, source control, testing and CI/CD practices.
- An understanding of secure or high-assurance software development principles.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- The ability to learn new technologies quickly and work effectively within technical teams.
- Eligibility to obtain UK eDV security clearance.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Desirable experience in cyber security or secure systems development.
- Desirable experience in low-level software engineering or vulnerability research.
- Desirable experience in reverse engineering or security-focused development.
- Desirable experience working within defence, national security or highly regulated environments.
