Job description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead an SRE team dedicated to platform reliability and observability within Platform Engineering.

Your mission will be to grow and lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers, ensuring Doctolib’s platform remains reliable, scalable, and resilient at a European scale across infrastructure, observability, and cross-cutting reliability initiatives. Your team drives reliability standards across 170+ applications, contributing directly to supporting 520,000 health professionals and 90 million patients in their daily healthcare journey.

Working in the tech team at Doctolib means combining people leadership with technical depth, taking ownership of critical systems, and partnering closely with product and engineering teams to enable fast, safe delivery., * Lead, coach, and grow a team of Site Reliability Engineers, supporting their technical development and career progression

  • Create a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and psychological safety within the team
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top SRE talent aligned with Doctolib’s mission and values

Technical Strategy

  • Define and evolve the reliability and observability strategy across the platform, covering infrastructure automation, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
  • Drive prioritization and roadmap planning for large-scale reliability initiatives, including SLOs, error budgets, and alerting standards across multiple product teams
  • Own the evolution of critical transversal services (e.g. secrets management, infrastructure as code tooling) that support secure, scalable infrastructure management across the organization
  • Advocate for and allocate resources toward reducing technical debt and improving developer experience

Operational Excellence

  • Own the team’s on-call experience and contribute to incident response processes, ensuring sustainable practices and continuous improvement
  • Lead postmortem reviews and drive systemic improvements to prevent recurring issues
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of the services your team owns

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and architects to align reliability and observability capabilities with product and platform needs
  • Represent your team in engineering leadership forums, architectural reviews, and strategic planning sessions
  • Foster strong partnerships with software engineering teams to embed reliability practices early in the development lifecycle, * Our solutions are built on a single fully cloud-native platform that supports web and mobile app interfaces, multiple languages, and is adapted to country and healthcare specialty requirements.

Requirements

  • Have at least 5+ years of software engineering or SRE experience, with a strong technical background in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, and/or Kubernetes-based)
  • Have 3+ years of engineering management experience, leading technical teams (ideally SRE, platform, or infrastructure teams)
  • Have a strong understanding of observability tooling and architecture (e.g. OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, Elasticsearch)
  • Have experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and secrets management systems
  • Have a proven ability to balance technical depth with people leadership, able to mentor engineers, review technical designs, and guide architectural decisions
  • Are fluent in English

It would be fantastic if you:

  • Have experience scaling SRE or platform teams in fast-growing, high-traffic environments
  • Have hands-on experience with backend programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Ruby)
  • Have experience driving cultural and technical transformations
  • Appreciate working in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, or similar); at Doctolib, data privacy and compliance are part of every engineering decision
