Job description
The Lead Enterprise Architect is responsible for ensuring the execution of various enterprise architecture-related work for Burns & McDonnell clients. The Lead Enterprise Architect will review and approve efforts to identify and deliver Enterprise Architecture services that support our clients’ Data Integration/Middleware Solutions, ensuring emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, industry best practices and continuous improvement.
- Apply industry experience and best practices to architect, design, develop, and implement enterprise architecture solutions to support complex business requirements.
- Consult on current and emerging application architectures and supporting middleware integration technologies and data practices to ensure the delivery of quality Enterprise solutions in both Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) domains to meet client objectives.
- Ensure enterprise strategies are created for our clients that clearly communicate industry best practices that support our client’s business and technology objectives.
- Quality review projects executed for electric transmission/distribution/generation/telecom, municipal government, federal government, airport, and facilities industries.
- Ensure projects translate business requirements into Enterprise Application/Technology solutions and services.
- Ensure the preparation of enterprise integration solution proposals, including developing technical specifications, technical approaches, team qualifications, cost estimates and schedules in response to client requests for proposals.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with our clients through high level enterprise architecture discussions and discovery strategies pertaining to the electric utility industry focusing on IT and OT applications technologies.
- Identify, write and present enterprise architecture strategies and technical papers, white papers, and presentations.
- Consult on network architecture (application/technology/data) and project execution processes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Assume and successfully execute leadership role in sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits. Ensure customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
- Responsible for managing the development of cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 14 years of experience providing enterprise architecture strategies, enterprise integration solutions and services leveraging various applications and technical platforms required.
- Or, Associate Degree and 16 years of experience providing enterprise architecture strategies, enterprise integration solutions and services leveraging various applications and technical platforms.
- Or, High School Diploma/GED and 18 years of experience providing enterprise architecture strategies, enterprise integration solutions and services leveraging various applications and technical platforms.
- Excellent enterprise architecture and integration skills, including data architecture, cloud architecture, middleware and other architectural methods and practices.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation projects using industry enterprise architecture strategy solutions and middleware technologies.
- Proven ability to influence and lead enterprise integration project execution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of application data analysis and transformation at various layers of the architecture and the ability to present data transformation during various stages of architecture.
- Experience with leading-edge applications, middleware technology and solutions utilizing data strategies.
- Experience with various project execution methodologies, including but not limited to Waterfall and Agile.
- Experience developing enterprise architecture strategies focusing on data, applications, and technologies for clients in the utilities industry.
- Experience in integrating operational systems in electric transmission/distribution/generation/telecom (SCADA, ADMS), municipal government, federal government, airport and facilities industries is preferred.
