Job description

A company in the Boulder, CO area is looking for Senior Principal Software Configuration Manager (SCM) to join their team in support of classified programs. This person will help to to anchor the integrity, governance, and traceability of our baseline assets. Day to day duties include maintain rigorous configuration control over our existing ecosystem while serving as the strategic mentor and guide to our newly formed DevSecOps team as they transition us toward automated CI/CD pipelines. This person is expected to establish, maintain, and audit software configuration baselines across all development streams. As well as, ensure all releases adhere to program build requirements, comply with quality and hardware configurations, document operating parameters, and remain logistically sustainable. They will also ensure every code/configuration change is traceable and develop program-wide configuration standards and review documentation artifacts to ensure CM processes are properly implemented. Moving forward, they will be expected to Act as the embedded SCM expert guiding the team on configuration best practices and contributing to new deployment principles.

Requirements

Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 8 years of related experience; a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 6 years of related experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-9+ years of Software Configuration Management (SCM), Configuration Management, Release Engineering, DevOps, Build Engineering, Software Quality, or related experience
  • Experience supporting software builds, release management, and software delivery processes
  • Experience working in Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience with: Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, Nexus tools -Expert-level command of Git, including complex branching, merging, and conflict resolution

  • Understanding of GitFlow branching strategies and version control best practices
  • Experience reviewing software dependencies, build processes, and deployment pipelines
  • Experience supporting CI/CD environments and release automation efforts
  • Experience coordinating software releases and maintaining configuration baselines
  • Ability to understand software development workflows and identify potential risks prior to deployment -Proven track record of operating in manual build environments while successfully guiding a team toward CI/CD automation with respect for SCM requirements., Experience working with GitFlow methodologies

  • Experience with ClearCase
  • Experience developing automation tools through scripting or programming
  • Experience supporting Docker containerized environments
  • Experience working within Agile software development teams
  • Knowledge of software quality, automated testing, code coverage, and CI/CD best practices
  • Experience administering or supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)

Benefits & conditions

Pay Range: ~$130,000-$170,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefits eligibility on day one of employment - Package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching (vesting period applies). Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable state law., Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
